8th Grade Promotion Details

8th Grade Families,

It’s time to celebrate our amazing JM Class of 2026!  As the end of middle school approaches, we are excited to honor our 8th graders with several memorable events in May. Please review the important details below and mark your calendars.

8th Grade Promotion Party

Friday, May 15, 2026
6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Location: Joaquin Moraga Intermediate School

This special evening celebration will include music, dancing, games, and dinner.

Check-In
6:00 PM – 6:15 PM (no early or late check-in)

Food Options
Students will select one of the following during checkout:
• Veggie Roll Sushi
• Steak Burrito
• Teriyaki Chicken with Rice Plate

Additional menu details will be provided during registration.

Pick-Up
9:00 PM promptly
Students may not leave before 9:00 PM unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

If you need special arrangements for early/late check-in OR early pickup, please contact Mr. Rubey before May 11th.

Promotion Ceremony

Thursday, May 28, 2026
5:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Location: Moraga Commons Bandshell

Six Flags Field Trip

Friday, May 29, 2026
8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom – Vallejo, CA

Students will celebrate the end of middle school with a full day of fun at Six Flags! The trip includes park admission, lunch, and transportation. Parent volunteers and JM staff will supervise throughout the day.

Schedule:

• Students arrive at school by 8:30 AM (buses depart from JM)
• Return to school by 5:00 PM

Important Notes:

• If you need to pick your child up early from Six Flags, please note this in the waiver at checkout
• If your student normally takes the school bus home, please plan an alternate ride home for that day.

Tickets and Registration

Please purchase tickets for both the Promotion Party and the Six Flags Field Trip by May 1st HERE.

The PTA provides financial assistance for families who need support. If you would like information about this option, please email Mr. Rubey and include “Jaguars Care” in the subject line.
